TERMS AND CONDITIONS
As of 1st April 2024
You, the dog owner (owner), will be deemed to have accepted BISCUITS DOG WALKING (BDW) terms and conditions as set out below on signing the consent form.
- Trial Period:
- All dogs will undergo a trial period to ensure they are adequately trained and socialised.
- Services Provided:
- All dogs will be exercised off lead when deemed appropriate by BDW.
- BDW reserve the right to cut walks short due to any extreme weather conditions (thunder, extreme heat etc.) for the safety of your dog and the walker.
- Dogs will be towel-dried. While BDW will endeavour to return dogs clean we cannot guarantee they will returned completely dry and mud-free.
- Fees and Payment Schedule:
- Payment will be invoiced each month around the 22nd–25th of each month and will be due on the last day of each month. We accept payment by either cash or bank transfer.
- BDW has the right to charge late payment admin fees for all payments not made on time.
- Cancellation Policy:
- You must provide 14 days notice of cancellation, otherwise you may still be charged.
- Safety and Liability:
- All dogs must be micro chipped as per Scottish Law.
- Bitches in season will not be taken on group walks for their own safety.
- Health and Vaccinations:
- All dogs must be suitably vaccinated.
- You will ensure that your dog will be kept up to date over time.
- If your dog is showing any signs of being unwell including coughing, sneezing, diarrhoea, conjunctivitis etc. we will be unable to walk your dog as they could pass on to other dogs.
- Equipment:
- The owner will provide suitable harness, collar with ID tag (as required by Scottish Law) and lead (no extendable leads) and leave a towel at front door.
- Emergency Procedures:
- BDW will always treat your dog’s health with the utmost of respect. In the unlikely event of an emergency we will always take prompt action to seek the advice and guidance of a veterinary surgeon.
- Where possible, we will always try to contact the dog’s own vet, however in emergency cases we may contact the nearest veterinary surgeon.
- The owner will be responsible for any veterinary fees incurred whilst your dog is in the care of BDW.
- Behavioural Expectations:
- Dogs should be sociable with other dogs.
- If there are any issues then please inform BDW at meet & greet to ensure all dogs are safe and suited.
- Any behavioural problems, quirks, or dislikes must be explained at the initial consultation.
- Any new issues that arise, BDW must be informed in order to best support your dog and keep all dogs safe.
- If BDW experiences any undesirable behaviour from your dog we reserve the right to restrict or restrain your dog (short lead, muzzle etc.) as is deemed appropriate given the circumstances.
- Holidays:
- BDW requires 2 weeks notice of any holidays you will be taking.
- To keep your place, You (owner and/or client) will be entitled to 6 weeks holiday over a 12 month period (January to December). Anything over and above this will be payable in full.
- BDW will take 2 to 6 weeks holiday per year and will give a minimum of 4 weeks notice. No payment will be due from the client for the days the BDW is on holiday.
- Termination of Agreement:
- You (the owner) and we (BDW) each agree to give 2 week’s notice to cancel any agreement between us. We reserve the right to waive or reduce this in exceptional circumstances.
- Confidentiality:
- BDW will protect the owner’s personal information and any sensitive details about their dog.
- Indemnity:
- BDW promise to care for your dog as you would yourself and whilst we make every effort to ensure your dogs are well looked after, BDW cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death of a dog whilst in our care.
- BDW cannot be held liable for any damages or injuries caused by their dog, unless directly due to the walker’s negligence.
- Governing Law:
- This agreement is covered by Scottish Law.
It’s essential you thoroughly review and understand the terms before agree to these terms to ensure mutual understanding and satisfaction.
By signing your consent form you are agreeing to these conditions and confirming that:
- Your dog is not on the dangerous dog list.
- Your dog is not subject to a dog control notice.
- Your dog is suitably vaccinated and you will ensure that your dog will be kept up to date over time.
